Werner Söderström Ltd (WSOY) is donating the Startup Handbook as an e-book to all third-year students in upper secondary school. The patron of the project is Minister of Education Anders Adlercreutz. The e-book will be distributed to the students through the Ellibs online store.

In the playfully illustrated book, experienced growth entrepreneurs and investors Timo Ahopelto and Jyri Engeström share their best insights and practical tips that have been tested and proven to work in real start-up scenarios. The book, illustrated by Linda Saukko-Rauta, is full of stories and examples to inspire and encourage the reader to take their first steps as an entrepreneur.

The Startup Handbook will be donated in the e-book format to all third-year students in upper secondary school. The educational institutions will receive a code that the students can use to download the book from the Ellibs online store. The CEO of Ellibs, Juha Tarvainen, is excited about the donation.

“It’s a privilege to help bring the basics of entrepreneurship to an entire age group. We are proud and happy to contribute to a good cause and distribute the book through Ellibs. When an entire age group has access to high-quality content as an e-book, opportunities are truly equal, and we believe that this will fuel the desire to read and inspire new entrepreneurial stories,” Mr Tarvainen says.

According to the CEO of WSOY, Timo Julkunen, the book donation is an important part of the publishing company’s work to promote the literacy of young people.

“Promoting literacy is a key social task of WSOY. Donating the Startup Handbook to an entire age group supports this mission, and I’m especially glad that the book also encourages young people to embark on the path of entrepreneurship. Literacy and entrepreneurship are keys to Finland’s success also in the future,” Timo Julkunen says.

Timo Ahopelto is a successful serial entrepreneur and a founding partner at Lifeline Ventures, a venture capital firm. Jyri Engeström is an entrepreneur, investor and co-founder of Jaiku, a micro-blogging service. Linda Saukko-Rautta is a visual note-taker and entrepreneur.
